Frequently Asked Questions

We sometimes receive questions in response to the information on the website. The most frequently asked questions including the answers can be found below.

Does the treatment fall under physical therapy?

Energenic's treatments fall under physical therapy because the treatments are performed by licensed, quality-registered physical therapists. Within physical therapy there are many different methods and views. Neuromuscular therapy is one of those many methods. This method is not yet very widely known, but all the more effective and efficient.

What makes your treatment different from standard physical therapy?

Unfortunately, within physical therapy, there is still too much focus on the symptom. A painful muscle or joint is often the symptom and not the underlying cause of the problem. For this reason, treating a painful muscle often only gives a temporary effect. Because we focus on the cause, and therefore the reason why that muscle or joint is painful, we do not waste valuable time in your recovery.

Why aren't you affiliated with health insurance companies?

We would like to work with you for an hour so that we can make great strides in your recovery per treatment. Unfortunately, health insurance companies do not allow this. In addition, health insurance companies set additional requirements that limit us in guaranteeing optimal quality.

What will I get back from insurance for treatment from you?

The fact that we are not affiliated with health insurance companies does not mean that you cannot send the invoice. If you are insured for physical therapy, you will be reimbursed for part of the invoice. How big that part is depends on your insurer and policy. Most people get 30 to 80% of the amount reimbursed. With a restitution policy, you have the greatest chance of a higher reimbursement.

I only see back pain, neck pain, hip and pelvic pain, knee pain and shoulder pain on the website. Can't I go with another complaint?

We focus mainly on the more difficult symptomology. That does not mean that you are not welcome with another complaint. In case you come for a complaint other than those listed above, please send us a message via e-mail or via 'Contact'.

Do I have to undress before the treatment?

We may ask you to (partially) undress. Please take this into account. Of course you can always keep your underwear on. Because we do not only examine the region where you have complaints, but also other regions, it is possible that you have to undress a part that you did not expect. Make sure you have appropriate undergarments and if you prefer to bring sportswear (shorts and a shirt for example), that is of course allowed as well.

How long does a treatment last?

We always schedule an hour, but a treatment lasts 55 minutes. So there is a small run-out possible, but basically most treatments are completed within 55 minutes.

How can I pay the invoice?

You will receive the invoice by mail after the treatment. You can download it and send it to your insurance if you are insured for physiotherapy. After treatment you can pay immediately via a payment request.

Can I park easily with you guys?

We are in Amsterdam West, close to the city center. Parking in the neighborhood is possible, but we don't have our own parking spaces. The best chance of finding a parking spot is on Donker Curtiusstraat and across the water on Eerste Kostverlorenkade. Don't forget to turn on your parking app!

Is it easily accessible by public transportation?

Several buses stop nearby, but the one that stops closest is bus 18 at the Kostverlorenvaart stop.

Do I need to prepare anything before treatment?

Before your first visit with us, you will receive an extensive questionnaire by email about your symptomology and medical history. Please return this before the first treatment so we can prepare optimally for your arrival. Furthermore, please remember to bring appropriate undergarments or sportswear.
